St. Elizabeth's & Christ the King is a community of believers in the Episcopal Church who gather to worship, pray, praise, learn and center our beings on God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We are open to what the Holy Spirit is speaking to us so that we may be active stewards of God's bounty. We strive to live as witnesses of Christ by seeking to love our neighbors - truly, our neighbors in our community and those near and far. While we may be a small congregation, we have a big heart full of love and welcome all to come and share the feast of Christ at this Table of Blessing.
The Rev. Sandra Michels
A former resident of Fort Worth and a graduate of the General Theological Seminary in New York City, Sandi was ordained to the transitional diaconate in Fort Worth in 1975 by Bishop Davies (before Forth Worth became a separate diocese). In April of 1977, Sandi became the first woman ordained as an Episcopal priest in the state of Texas, serving in El Paso. She has served in various dioceses around the country and retired after 23 years of service as rector of St. Francis in the Fields in Zionsville, Indiana. After her retirement, she returned to General Seminary and completed a Masters in Sacred Theology. She returned to Fort Worth in 2011 and began attending at St.Elisabeth's Church. She was selected as Priest-in-Charge of St. Elisabeth's in 2012 and has been overseeing the revitalization of the congregation and 4.5 acre grounds and facility of St. Elisabeth's. On December 1, 2013, Sandi welcomed the congregation of Christ the King Episcopal Church into her fold.
